So, there’s a POSSIBILITY we’ll hold a Winter Games in the last portion of this year, or the first portion of 2014.
The format would be slightly different. You’ll still receive an event assignment, and have a few days to submit your entry. But you’ll be working with a team of 1-5 other players, and after submitting your entries you’ll (as a group) select the best of them, and then work together to make it as perfect as possible. Your TEAM entry will be “sent up” for public commentary and official scoring by judges. Teams will have private discussion/comment abilities. Coaches (judges) will also be able to drop in on teams during the collaboration period and offer comments or advice.
We won’t be differentiating advanced/beginner. In the past, it was pretty much the same scenario for both, with the advanced track asking for a “tool” and the beginner for a “one liner;” people didn’t really grok the distinction, so we’re just going to do one track and you can attempt to solve it however you like.
Right now, I’m thinking 2-3 days for individual entries, 3-4 days of team collaboration, and a couple of days for scoring. Does that sound about right? Too long? Too short?
Also, I’d like some community folks to get more involved in drafting challenges/scenarios. If you’d like to help, drop me a line, or post here.
SO: Looking for your feedback on the (a) timing and (b) offers to write draft scenarios!
